Thanks to this simple and delicious banana pudding ice cream, you don’t have to search for those healthy ice creams that you can’t find in the supermarket, nor do you have to spend your money on ice creams loaded with sugar and saturated fats to satisfy your cravings. All you need is some ripe bananas and a scoop of your favorite flavor. Easy, right?

Ingredients for 6 people

  • 200 ml of cream
  • 100ml milk
  • 400 g of ripe banana (about 4 bananas)
  • 60 g maple syrup or honey
  • Vanilla
  • Salt

To decorate:

  • dark chocolate chips
  • Banana pieces
  • Fresh mint

How to make banana pudding ice cream

The first step in the recipe is the weighing and measuring of the ingredients. Whip the cream first and put it in the freezer while you prepare the rest of the ice cream mixture.

In a blender or food processor, put the banana, a little lemon juice, salt, maple syrup, vanilla and blend until you have a smooth cream.

Add the milk little by little without stopping the beating.

When we have a homogeneous and slightly thick cream, we also put it in the freezer for half an hour so that it cools down a little and we can mix it with the cream. Carefully add the previous mixture to the bowl containing the cold but not frozen cream.

The next step, once the banana ice cream is ready, is to butter it and add air. As always, there are two ways to do this.

If we have an ice cream maker, we pour the mixture into the bowl and spread the ice cream according to the machine’s instructions.

Otherwise, we can make it homemade and artisanal, and to do that we first put it in the freezer. In order to air it and get a creamy ice cream, we have to stir it every half hour to break the crystals that form.

We will do this for a minimum of 3 hours. Once we have a creamy mixture, we put it in the freezer for two or three hours before serving.

Finally, we will decorate them with sliced banana and maple syrup or dark chocolate. To make it easier to serve, we can make the balls and freeze them, and when it is time to serve, they are ready.
